SOS - SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL

Like all Denver Public Schools, Polaris must address that our budget allocation excludes items and activities that our families and staff members hope for as a part of the school we evision for our children.

The Support Our School or SOS direct-giving campaign is Polaris PTO's biggest fundraiser. It was established in 2003 in response to a survey of Polaris families indicating that they would prefer to give money for the benefit of our school instead of enduring multiple fundraising events.

Direct giving has enormous advantage over conventional school fundraisers.

• Every cent of every contribution goes directly to our school.
• Evey gift, regardless of size, is highly significant to our school. Asking families early in the year to give at a level that is significant to them is far more efficient and far less labor intensive than events-based fundraisers.
• By fundraising efficiently, the SOS direct-giving campaign enables our PTO to focus on community building, education, teacher support and other fun school activities throughout the year.
