Volunteering

Polaris at Ebert is grateful for the time and talents provided by members of our community.  Our school encourages parents to play an active role in their children’s school experience by attending events, volunteering in the school and at events, and/or participating in groups that work for the school’s benefits such as the Polaris Annual Fund Committee or our weekly electronic newsletter editing staff.  .

Specific examples of opportunities for parent volunteers include (but are not limited to) the following:

• volunteer in the classroom supporting instruction or preparing materials
• chaperone students on a field trip
• help in the library
• volunteer for a PTA event committee
• Teaching or assisting with Friday Electives Program

Decision Making:

Parent involvement in school decisions supports the school in ensuring a collaborative leadership model and in meeting the needs of the entire community. Parents can support with decision making through:

• become a member of the CSC
• take a leadership role on the PTO

Community events:

The Polaris at Ebert Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) in collaboration with the principal and teachers plan community events throughout the school year. Parents can support these events through:

• supporting the PTO in organizing community events
• joining the fundraising committee of the PTO
• volunteering at a community event
• bringing their children to a community event
