Crow Canyon Trip
August 20, 2009
Dear 4th Grade Parent:
Every year since the Polaris program was established, the 4th grade classes have participated in a five-day, four-night trip to Crow Canyon Archaeological Center. Crow Canyon is located near Cortez and Mesa Verde, Colorado. During this school year your child will immerse themselves in studies related to the experience they will have at the archaeological center. You can learn more about Crow Canyon’s educational programs by going to www.crowcanyon.org.
Crow Canyon 2010 will take place immediately following Spring Break, during the week of April 5-9, 2010.
The financial cost for Crow Canyon is significant. The cost for each child to attend is $580*, which includes transportation, room and board, Crow Canyon Archaeological Center educational fees, a disposable camera, notebook and $20 spending money for each child. We realize this is a lot to ask, so that is why we are letting you know now and giving you different payment/scholarship options. You can pay in full or you can elect to make monthly installments as described on the attached form.
We are committed to every child taking advantage of this great opportunity. If even one classmate wasn’t able to go, the class would miss the contribution that child would make by being there.
Sincerely,
2010 Crow Canyon Committee
