BEGINNING BAND

Just kidding! There is nothing more rewarding than beginning a musical instrument. 3rd-5th graders are encouraged to begin playing a band instrument this year. These include: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, horn in F, trombone, baritone and percussion. All third grade students will get a chance to play these instruments and select the one that will work for them. Any 4th' and 5th grade students who wish to try an instrument may come down to the music room during lunch or speak with Ms. Patterson to set up a time. During the trial, students will play at least 3 instruments and bring home a recommendation for parents. This is only a recommendation! Ultimately, the decision is for students and parents to make.Beginning band will be Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 3:45 to 4:45 starting August 31st. The cost is $5 per lesson and scholarships are available. Polaris has several instruments to loan students with a $25.00 refundable deposit. Those are on a first come first served basis.
