Dear Greater Park Hill / Stapleton Families:
As many of you know, the district has been meeting with area elementary school families to get their perspectives on the options to serve more middle school students at the Smiley campus. Thank you to those who have been able to participate. I want to assure you that no decision has been made, and the intention of this process is to take a pulse and potentially generate other ideas/options that we might not have considered to date.
I’d like to encourage you to attend a community meeting we are hosting with district officials on
Wednesday, January 6th at 6pm at the Smiley Campus, 2540 Holly St.
At this meeting, we will discuss McAuliffe’s plan to grow to serve more students within the Smiley Campus by creating “small houses” by grade level. Additionally, other scenarios for the future of the Smiley Campus will be presented, and community members will have the opportunity to engage with district leadership and to share feedback. This meeting will be widely publicized among Greater Park Hill / Stapleton families, and you will also be able to hear from other families in the area.
Thank you to each of you for your commitment to our school and to our community. I’m excited to continue our momentum, and wish you a most relaxing and peaceful holiday season with your loved ones.
