The 2014 Jog-A-Thon is just two weeks away and will be held on Friday, May 2, 9 a.m. to noon. If you do not want your child to participate for any reason, please notify your child’s teacher directly. Otherwise, please make sure your child is prepared and dressed appropriately for the weather on the day of the event. That means comfortable shoes for walking or jogging, appropriate clothing and sunscreen applied. We’d like to make the event as “green” as possible and will ask the kids to bring their water bottles to the event. We will have a table near the start where the kids will be able to leave their bottle while they are on the course. There will be ice water and, of course, cups for those who don’t have a bottle or forget to bring it.
We hope your little jogger is getting excited to demonstrate his or her athletic prowess and more importantly, to have fun with friends. A fun and kid-friendly music playlist is being compiled, Coach D is warming up the megaphone, and it is sure to be a beautiful Colorado day for a jog.
Of course, the Jog-A-Thon is not just for fun, but is one of our most successful fundraisers of the year. After your child has wrapped up his or her donation requests, please be sure to turn those donations in to your child’s teacher or the main office where there is a colorful box marked “Jog-A-Thon.”
Finally, thank you to all who have signed up to help make this event fun, safe and successful for the kids.
